Software outsourcing company in Vietnam, fixed price per project

Outsourced projects at ALODEV fall into two groups. The first is a complete product or system, from discovery to handover: a customer-facing web application, an app for iPhone and Android, or an internal system that replaces spreadsheets and chat groups for sales, inventory, HR or customer management. The second is a clearly bounded part of a larger system while your own team keeps the core, such as a mobile app on top of your existing API, an integration between two systems, a separate module, or testing for an existing product.

In both cases the work is scoped and priced as a project. We do not place individual engineers in your team to be managed day to day.

Software outsourcing companies in Vietnam usually offer some combination of the models below. The last column shows which one ALODEV offers.

Time and materials and dedicated teams work well for companies that already have a technical lead or product owner with time to plan an engineer's week. Fixed price works well for companies that want scope, price and schedule settled before work starts, and do not have a technical manager of their own. ALODEV works for the second group, and keeping to one model is what lets us commit to a price, a schedule and a warranty on the result.

Changes to scope

• Every request outside the agreed scope goes into a shared list, and we estimate its time and cost.
• Nothing is built until you approve it; if you do not approve, nothing is charged.
• New features beyond the original scope are handled through a separate contract addendum.
• If a delay is caused by ALODEV, compensation applies as set out in the contract. If the scope changes on your side, both sides agree a new schedule.

When the scope is not clear yet

If the scope cannot be described yet, we run discovery and design first, then quote the remaining work once it is clear what needs to be built. A product whose direction is still moving is split into short milestones, each with its own scope and price, instead of one large fixed scope.

For a company outside Vietnam, working with ALODEV is offshore software development: the team is in another country and usually another time zone. A fixed-price project needs less day-to-day coordination across that distance: the work follows a written scope and a working build every two weeks, so nobody has to assign tasks across time zones every day.

• Written scope: the approved proposal lists, for each milestone, the screens and workflows included, how long it takes and how it will be measured. That scope goes into the contract.
• A working build every two weeks: each iteration ends with a version you can use, followed by a joint review.
• One shared task and bug list, open to the person responsible on your side.
• Acceptance on the running system: the final milestone is accepted only when the system runs on your real data.
• Direct contact with the engineers who write the code, and with the founder when needed. Our engineers work from our office in Hanoi; we do not subcontract.

Time zone and office hours

Hanoi is on UTC+7 all year; Vietnam does not use daylight saving time. Our office hours are Monday to Friday 08:30-18:00 and Saturday 09:00-12:00, Vietnam time. We overlap 2-4 hours with your working day: for Europe and the UK that is your morning (our afternoon), for the US your early morning (our evening, by appointment). A video progress meeting takes place every week at a fixed time agreed at kickoff.

Language

We work in English throughout: email and chat, calls and meetings, proposals, the shared task list, and every document we hand over, including technical documentation and admin and user manuals. You can reach us by email, WhatsApp or phone.

After full payment, the items below belong to your company. Each one comes from ALODEV's published terms of service.

• Source code, handed over in full, with the right to use, modify and develop it further.
• The code repository, on your company's own GitHub or GitLab.
• Databases and domain names, registered in your company's name.
• Service accounts: Apple Developer, Google Play, Cloudflare and servers, registered under your company.
• Design assets: Figma files, illustrations and written content.

There are no license fees and no obligation to buy a maintenance plan. After handover you can maintain the system yourself or hire another company without asking our permission; the contract has no clause against it. If your own team takes over, we run one technical handover session free of charge. We build with widely used technology (Go, Node.js with NestJS, Next.js, PostgreSQL, React Native), so another team can pick up the code and documentation.

If the contract ends early, by mutual agreement, because of a serious breach or through force majeure, ALODEV hands over all completed work, including source code and documentation, in proportion to the amount paid.

ALODEV keeps two rights: to reuse generic internal components that contain none of your business logic, such as a form builder or shared interface components, and to show the project name and screenshots in our portfolio, only with your consent.

Each project is signed as a service contract with ALODEV SINGLE MEMBER COMPANY LIMITED (CÔNG TY TNHH MTV ALODEV, tax ID 0111526292). The contract covers scope, schedule, the obligations of both sides, the payment schedule, intellectual property, confidentiality, warranty, termination and dispute resolution.

• Payment is made in three installments: 30% when the contract is signed, 40% when the main features run in trial on your real data, 30% after final acceptance and handover.
• Clients outside Vietnam pay in US dollars by international bank transfer (SWIFT) to the company account, and each installment is invoiced as an export of services.
• Clients in Vietnam pay by bank transfer and receive a VAT invoice for each installment.
• If a payment is more than 14 days late, ALODEV may pause work until it is received.

Our published standard terms settle disputes by negotiation first, then mediation, then the competent court in Hanoi under Vietnamese law. For clients outside Vietnam, the governing law of the contract is agreed per project.

Confidentiality

If you ask, we sign a non-disclosure agreement before the discovery session, using your template or ours. Business information, real data and source code stay confidential during and after the project, and real client data is removed from development environments once the system goes live.

Every delivered system has a lifetime warranty from the date of acceptance. It covers defects in the code ALODEV delivered, integration defects within the contract scope, important security patches, and performance that falls below the level accepted at handover.

Times are counted in business hours in Vietnam, excluding Saturday and Sunday; P1 incidents are handled outside business hours as well. The warranty does not cover changes to business rules that were already accepted, new features, data entry mistakes, problems in your own or third-party infrastructure, or code modified by someone else after handover. For work outside the warranty you can choose a periodic maintenance plan, pay per incident, or use your own team.

Whether or not you choose ALODEV, the checks below separate vendors quickly, and most of them can be answered from documents before the first call.

1. Legal entity. Ask for the registered company name and tax ID, and check them on Vietnam's national business registration portal (dangkykinhdoanh.gov.vn).
2. Who writes the code. Ask whether the engineers are employees or subcontractors, and whether you will talk to them directly.
3. Ownership. The contract should state that source code, design files and service accounts pass to you, and whether any license fee remains.
4. Payment against working software. Each installment should fall due when a running system is accepted.
5. Warranty. Look for written response and fix times by severity, and read what is excluded.
6. Exit terms. Check what you receive if the contract ends early.
7. Maintainable technology. Mainstream languages and frameworks mean another team can take over later.

• You need engineers inside your team, directed by you every day for months or years. A staff augmentation or dedicated team provider fits better.
• You want to pay by the hour against an open-ended backlog.
• You only need a few small fixes with no clear scope. A freelancer may be faster and cheaper, without a long warranty.
• Your procurement requires specific certifications or audits. Ask us before the discovery session and we will answer in writing.
